Web Streaming
Relay House Inc. now offers web streaming in H.264/MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 via two methods: P2P (Point-to-Point) and S2H (Satellite-to-Host).P2P:
The encoded switched output or A/V feed is connected to dedicated T1 lines. The stream is then sent to a receive point or "Multicasted" to a total of 4 receive points. No satellite space is needed in P2P, however, bandwidth requirements must be considered. For a Good-Quality MPEG-4 SD video P2P web stream, a 3meg dedicated service (dual T1 lines) will be required. A lower quality SD stream can be sent via a single T1 line, but picture and sound quality will be much lower.
S2H:
The encoded switched output or A/V feed is sent via satellite to a web streaming company. The web streaming company downlinks the feed from satellite and sends it to the web. Once transmitting, the streamed video can be viewed anywhere in the world via the web. Again, depending on the available bandwidth of the web streaming company.
P2P + S2H:
Relay House can simulcast both at same time! That's right! We can send a dedicated P2P stream AND S2H streams simultaneously. This method requires T1 lines and Satellite space.
